Errrrr... ok, so I had intended to blog about the hair mask I used last night. But it was such a disaster that I had to do more of a Dangers of hair masks post. (Excuse the drama.) So I was googling hair mask ideas online- with reluctance because I've had a bad experience before. I came across one that said to mix banana, honey and olive oil, so I made the mask and got in the shower. I applied it to wet hair, all was fine, until... I had to get it out. OMG the lumps of banana would not wash out!!! Oh god it was awful- like really bad lumpy dandruff. When I got out of the shower, I combed through my hair and got most of the lumps out... but I'm still finding the occasional banana flake!
The previous hair mask disaster happened a couple of months ago.. I'd heard lots of people saying that olive oil was great for moisturising hair. You know where this is going right? So after I washed my hair, I put in a tiny teeny bit of oil, but didn't feel it was enough, so I kept adding more. I washed it out and my hair felt really glossy. I went to bed with kinda damp hair. (I let it air dry.) I woke up the next morning with the greasiest hair ever!!!!! I had to leave for school within the hour so I jumped in the shower, and lashed on really hot water to get all the oil out. I got it out, but had to put my hair in a bun then- there was no time to dry it. So it was in a reallly tight bun.. which does not suit me at all!
So, I don't know if any of the hair masks actually worked- the cons far outway the pros!
What have I learned? Well I don't know about other people but I'm not putting anything lumpy in my hair again.. and I'm definitely gonna go easier on the olive oil! Actually I'm just gonna stick to the hair masks you buy in a store from now on.
Have you had any hair related disasters?

Adele: A Beauty Icon
Well as pretty much everyone will agree, Adele sang beautifully at the Grammy's last week. And didn't she look stunning? Classicly beautiful. Sculpted cheeks, ruby red lips and an elegant eyeliner flick. Lots of youtube guru's recreated the look. Here's Dulcecandy87's version:
And she looks amazing in her Vogue photoshoot! You can see that here. I'm really excited to try this look for a dinner next week. What do you think of it?

Review: Nivea Rich Moisturising Body Moisturiser (Dry Skin)
One of my New Year's resolutions is to be better at moisturising my body. Despite being religious with my face skincare routine, I can be a bit lazy sometimes with body moisturiser. Especially in Winter! So now, afer every shower, I use this. I decided it was unrealistic to say I would use it morning and night, but at least I use it once a day this way.
Thoughts? I really love this moisturiser. It feels amazing on. I can feel it sinking into my skin and I really think it works. This product is specifically formulated for dry skin, which I have. It says it should last for 24 hours. Again, this is true, my skin still feels soft the next day. It's also really affordable. Not sure exactly how much but I reckon around £4 or €5. You can find it in the drugstore or supermarket, which is so convenient.
This is a short review because what can I say about a moisturiser except it works? Haha
Will I repurchase? Yes, I already have!
Rating: 10/10

Review: Rimmel London 60 seconds Nail Polish
I LOVE Rimmel nail polish. Always have. Great drugstore brand for nail polish, soo affordable too.
This is a pretty summer shade, Funtime Fushcia. I know it's January, but at this time of the year, I always feel a bit down- Christmas memories seem forever ago and Summer is just too long away! So I like to wear bright colours like this.
It has a great consistency. It's not super gloopy, or too dry, it glides on perfectly.
The best thing about it is that it dries within one minute. I'm such an impatient person when it comes to nail polish. I hate waiting for 15 minutes. I'm also prone to smudging the polish, so the faster it dries, the less I smudge.
The brush is great on this, like all Rimmel nail polishes. It's wide enough to cover the whole nail in one stroke.
Will I repurchse? Of course, it's my fave.

It's been a while since I posted- very busy with school work!

Review: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash
I generally love Neutrogena products. It's great for young skin. I've just finished using this and I really like it.
This product is supposed to eliminate spots and blackheads. I'm generally lucky enough not to get that many spots anyway, but I really do think it helped to clear up some of my blackheads.
Its a very affordable price too - under £5/€6 . Now the smell- I wasn't too keen on it at first. It's supposed to be grapefruit, but I'm not really keen on that anyway. I've got used to it though. It doesn't really bother me to be honest. Although I do think it would be good if they could somehow improve it. I looked online, and it seems to be what makes people disagree the most- Some love it, some hate it. Scent is very personal so you really won't know if you like the scent 'til you try it.
It's a nice light formula. I think it would be best for normal/ oily skin.
I'm about to start using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 wash/mask now, as you can see below, the pink grapefruit one is almost used up.
Will I repurchase? Probably.

Beauty Tip: Bring your nail varnish back to life!
Ok so this always happens to me.. you know when you buy a nail polish that's great for summer? And then autumn arrives and you use darker colours? When spring comes back around, you can't wait to y use that bright nail polish again.. Only it's not 'spreadable' (sounds like butter)! After months of not using it, it has become slightly dried up. Annoying right?
Well this always works for me:
Pour a tiny bit of nail varnish remover into the nail varnish. Replace the lid and shake shake shake!
I did this today when I decided to put on hot pink nail varnish even though it's mid January. Thank God!
Btw, this only works if it's not as 'gloopy' as you need it to be. It obviously doesn't work if it's become an actual rock of nail varnish!

Vaseline: A love that will never end
Okay so everyone has a tin of vaseline somewhere right? I have some in totally random places. Seriously, you wouldn't know where you could find one! But I generally keep one in my handbag, one in my make up bag, one on my desk and one in my school bag. Vaseline is such a multi-tasking product, that I had to do a blog post on it.
Uses:
I can't imagine my life without vaseline haha!

Uses:
- Moisturise lips. Most obvious use, but it's essential.
- Set eyebrows.
- Sometimes when I'm not wearing make up, I put vaseline on my eye lids for a glossy sheen.
- Again, without make up, I put it on my lashes. It makes them longer when I don't want to wear mascara.
- When my skin on my hands is dry in the winter, and it cracks, I put vaseline on the cut if I don't have handcream.
- If your zip is stuck, on jeans or boots, it helps to ease it.
- Use it on the ends of your hair, if it's very dry.
- If you're wearing heels, put vaseline on the areas of your feet that tend to rub, it will stop you from getting blisters. It really works!!
- Rub it into your cuticles to make them softer.
- Dry elbows or knees? Use Vaseline.
I can't imagine my life without vaseline haha!
